Client / Context
A regional network of youth organizations sought to strengthen the capacity of youth workers who were newly entering the field. Many participants had strong motivation but limited formal training in youth work methodologies.

My Role
I designed and delivered a comprehensive training program focusing on the fundamentals of youth work practice.

Project Description

The training program was developed to introduce participants to the core principles of youth work, including non-formal education, youth participation, and ethical engagement with young people.

The program included interactive workshops, group work, and practical exercises that allowed participants to apply youth work methodologies in real-life scenarios.

Key topics covered during the training included:

  • Principles and values of youth work

  • Youth participation and empowerment

  • Facilitation techniques for youth groups

  • Managing youth programs and activities

  • Conflict resolution and inclusive practices

The training emphasized experiential learning, enabling participants to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Results and Impact

Participants reported increased confidence in working with young people and a better understanding of youth work methodologies. Several organizations later integrated the training framework into their own internal staff development programs.
